Being kinematic (true) means that the actor affects other objects, but is not affected by other objects (it "gives physics" but does not "receive physics"). For example, a wall is kinematic: it affects other objects (a ball will bounce off of it) but is not affected by other objects (throwing a ball or kicking a wall doesn't cause it to move).
If the actor is not kinematic (isKinematic = false), it is said to be dynamic, in which case it affects and is affected by physics ("gives" and "receives" physics). For example, a soccer ball is dynamic because it will move when kicked (receives physics), and can also as a result hit and knock over an expensive vase (gives physics).
